LeBron Raymone James Sr. (born December 30, 1984) is an American professional basketball player with the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). James is known for his role as King James and is considered to be one of the greatest basketball players of all time. James holds four NBA champions. Four NBA MVPs. Four NBA Finals MVPs. Three All-Star MVPs. Two Olympic gold medals. James is the holder of having the top score of points in the post-season, second best total career point total and seventh highest number of career assists. Additionally, as an NBA All-Star, James was selected for his NBA All-NBA Team on 18 occasions. He was the third player to participate in NBA Finals. Eight of these were consecutive between 2011 through 2018. James was selected for the NBA 75th Anniversary Team in 2021. In 2022, he became the first NBA player to reach 10,000 points in his career. James played basketball in St. Vincent St. Mary High School in his hometown from Akron Ohio and was heavily touted by the national media for his potential as an NBA superstar. He was a top pick for the Cleveland Cavaliers selected him with the first pick of the NBA draft in 2003. When he was named the 2004 NBA Rookie of the Year, he rapidly established himself as an elite player within the NBA winning the NBA's MVP Award both in 2009 and 2010. James signed a free-agent contract in 2010 after failing to win championships with Cleveland. The decision to leave Cleveland to join Miami Heat, announced on the show on television The Decision, is considered one of the controversial free-agent moves in sports history.
