Kirsten Simone Vangsness is an American actor and playwright from the United States. She came into the limelight when she appeared as the character 'Penelope Garcia' in the police procedural crime drama TV series 'Criminal Minds'. Kirsten vangsness was also in two of the spin-offs "Criminal Minds Beyond Borders" and "Criminal Minds: suspect behavior". The majority of her work is as a TV actor, but she has also had a few minor parts in films after her first showbiz appearance in 1998. There have been some notable performances in movies such as "In My Sleep, The Chicago 8", and 'Kill Me, Deadly.' Her writings have appeared in The Los Angeles Times. She's also a playwright, and written three episodes for Criminal Minds. She often rescues and rehabilitates neglected and injured cats.
