
Bellamy Young was born Amy Maria Young in the month of February, 1970. 1. She is an American singer, actress also known as producer, actor, and singer famous for her role of Melody "Mellie," Grant in ABC's Scandal between 2012 and 2018. She got the Critics' choice Television Award for the Best Supporting Actress in an Drama Series in 2014. She starred in the 2019 season in the role of Prodigal Son on Fox. Young began her professional profession as an actor in the theater. In 1997, Young made her Broadway debut as Mary in the original cast of The Life. [8][9] She has also appeared Off-Broadway in Stephen Sondheim's Musical Merrily We're Rolling Along (1994), and Randy Newman's Faust (1995-1996). Her first appearance on television in 1995 with the character Dr. Courtney Evans, in the role of a regular in the NBC soap opera Another World. In two episodes, she appeared of Law & Order, 1997 and 1998. The film's debut came the year 1999 when she starred as an important role in the the crime thriller Black and White. The actress later appeared in other independent movies. Beginning in 2000, she was spotted in guest-starring roles on a number of TV comedies and dramas, including The Drew Carey Show, The X Files, ER, Frasier, The West Wing, NCIS, Medium, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Two and a Half Men, Supernatural, Drop Dead Diva, and Castle. From 2000 to 2011, Young made over 30 guest appearances on television shows.
