thomas sadoski-2Sadoski began his award-winning stage career as the understudy for Mark Ruffalo and Mark Rosenthal in the Off Broadway production of Kenneth L. Lonergan's critically acclaimed play This is Our Youth at the Second Stage Theatre. This was the beginning of many productions for the company based in New York. He has participated in many Off-Broadway and Broadway productions, as with productions in regional theatres. In 2008, he originated the role as Greg in Neil LaBute's show reasons to be beautiful for MCC Theatre alongside The Newsroom co-star Alison Pill. It was an acclaimed Off-Broadway show which sold out. In April 2009, it moved to Broadway where it was awarded three Tony Award nominations: Best Actor: Sadoski; Best Actress: Marin Ireland; Best Play as well as three Drama Desk Award nominations: Best Actor, Best Director Terry Kinney and Best actor. 6. Neil LaBute credited Sadoski with the shift in tone of Reasons to be Pretty, a departure from earlier plays. He commented: "His thoughtfulness and good heart allowed him not to get back into something I've previously performed." My plays typically end in a dark way. Though I believed that gray was a real thing, he showed me that there are many shades to life. In 2011, he performed the role as Trip Wyeth in Jon Robin Baitz's Other Desert Cities for which he won an Obie Award and Lucille Lortel Award. The show (which, also after a sold out Off-Broadway performance, was transferred to Broadway in November of 2011) was named Outstanding New Off-Broadway Play by the Outer Critics Circle in 2011. Sadoski was also seen on Broadway with Ben Stiller and Edie Falco.
